About Steady Neighbor
Steady Neighbor helps older adults use computers and phones with confidence, and helps them stay a step ahead of scammers.
What we do
- Step-by-step guides for Windows and Mac computers, written in plain English.
- Clear "do this now" help when a scam pop-up, email, text or phone call shows up.
- Settings and tools that make technology easier to see, hear and use.
- Free one-page guides you can print and keep next to your computer.
Our promises to you
- We never contact you first. We answer messages you send us, and we never ask for your passwords.
- No pop-ups, no auto-playing videos, no tricks.
- Every step is checked against the official instructions before a guide is published, and every guide shows the date it was last updated.
- We link to the official sources we used, such as the Federal Trade Commission, Microsoft and Apple.

How we make money
Our guides are free. Some pages may include links to products we've tested; if you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes what we recommend. Read our full disclosure.
Independent
Steady Neighbor is an independent website. We are not affiliated with Microsoft, Apple, Google or any government agency.
How to reach us
WhatsApp is the only way to contact us, and it's also where we help readers with questions: +1 (814) 323-6883. Messages answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We never contact anyone first. If someone calls you saying they're from Steady Neighbor, it isn't us.
